The Itinerary

The Overseas Highway (US-1) connecting Miami to Key West is one of the world's most iconic drives: 170 km spanning 42 bridges over turquoise water, hopping island to island through the entire Florida Keys archipelago.

Key Largo, the first large island, is the world's diving capital — John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park protects the only living coral reef in the continental U.S. Further south, Islamorada ("purple village") is a sport-fishing paradise. Marathon, the central town, hosts the Turtle Hospital and Dolphin Research Center.

Seven Mile Bridge, 11 km over the ocean, is the visual highlight (seen in True Lies and Mission Impossible 3). Bahia Honda State Park has the Keys' most beautiful sand beach. Key West, the southernmost point of the continental U.S., pulses with music bars (Duval Street), Mallory Square sunsets, and Ernest Hemingway's house with its six-toed cats.
