The Itinerary

Adirondacks State Park (24,000 km², America's largest state park) hosts 46 peaks over 1,200 m. Lake Placid, two-time Winter Olympics host (1932 and 1980), is the park's capital.

The "Miracle on Ice" (USA upset of the USSR in 1980) happened in Lake Placid. Olympic facility tours (ski jump, bobsled — wheeled bobsled rides in summer!). Lake Placid Lake, Mirror Lake, Whiteface Mountain (5th-highest NY peak, drive to the summit). Legendary fall colours.
