The Itinerary

Yellowstone, the world's first national park (1872), sits atop an active supervolcano. Geysers (10,000+, including Old Faithful), multicolored thermal basins, abundant wildlife (bison, bears, wolves, elk) and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

From Salt Lake City, I-15 north then Route 89 via the West Entrance. Old Faithful erupts roughly every 90 min. Grand Prismatic Spring is the world's most colourful hot spring. Lamar Valley is called "America's Serengeti" for bison and wolves. Hayden Valley for bears. Combine with Grand Teton National Park to the south.
